ABOUT US
We are NOT a secret society! Our membership is made up of ladies and gentlemen, young and old, beginners in magic through to full time professionals. But we all share one thing in common – a love of magic!
The aim of our Circle is to help each other become better magicians and to have fun along the way. You can, and no doubt will, learn a lot of magic tricks from books, DVDs etc., but what you learn from REAL PEOPLE is not only how to do the sleights, but the subtleties and nuances that make a performance more fooling and entertaining. Nothing helps your self confidence better than good training. The Circle also maintains an extensive library of DVDs / Books which can be borrowed for a nominal cost.
ABOUT OUR MEETINGS
We normally hold two meetings per month: –

1 On the first Tuesday of the month at The Little Theatre in Rhyl. This is the formal club night and meetings cover a wide range – including workshops to learn moves and routines, lectures / demonstrations (often by internationally known magicians), shows and competitions. After there is usually time for a good mix & mingle!

2 On the third Wednesday of the month at the Magic Bar Live in Llandudno. This is an opportunity to sit in groups to work on moves or routines or to get help if you have an idea for an effect and need a new or different method.

A number of meetings are open to the public. Please send us your details in the Contact Page of this website and say you are interested in magic. Please include a phone number so that we can get in touch to answer any questions you have and give details of meetings you can attend.
We also appreciate that you may be nervous at the thought of meeting a room full of magicians! If this applies to you, please bring a friend with you.
PLEASE NOTE
If you are aged between 10 & 15, you can become a Junior Member. However, you must be accompanied by a parent / guardian to all meetings. Once you turn 16 you can become a full Member and attend on your own.

How to Join
- Contact us. Get in touch to find out about next meeting that non-members can attend.
- Come to one of our meetings.
- Fill in your application form, and get two members to sign it as your Proposer and Seconder.
- Hand in the application form to the Treasurer or Secretary, along with your joining fee and membership fee. (please see up to date list of fees at the foot of this page )
- Your application will be discussed at the next Committee meeting. If you are accepted, you will receive a letter/e-mail telling you that you have been accepted as an Associate Member of the NWMC (In the unlikely event that an application is declined all fees would be refunded)
- In order to be awarded full membership you must perform your debut within twelve months of becoming an Associate Member. If you need help to prepare for your debut just ask.
- As soon as you feel confident please speak to a member of the Committee to arrange your debut on a suitable meeting night. Your debut should consist of a minimum of three magic effects, and should last between 6 and 15 minutes. There’s no need to worry about being perfect – we just want to see that you’ve tried your best to learn some magic and are willing to perform it for us.
- At the next committee meeting your performance will be considered, and if you are successful, you will receive a letter/e-mail telling you that you are a full member of the NWMC
