We are sad to report the passing of our former president and great friend Albert Harrison. We received the following message via social media from his Son Paul on Saturday 16th January
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share with you the sad news that my father, Albert Harrison, passed away peacefully this morning after a short battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Harrison, his sons Dave Harrison, Stephen Harrison and me, his grand children Cameron Harrison, Jordie Harrison and Lia Harrison along with many other loving relatives and great friends.
He was a wonderful man who was loved by many. I’m happy to say that my dad had a fantastic life always surrounded by friends and family. He loved working with wood and later in his life discovered a passion and talent for magic. We always looked forward to his magic shows when he visited us here in Australia. I have so many happy memories and great stories about my dad. It breaks my heart that I wasn’t able to see him and say a final farewell, or hug my mum and my brothers when they needed me most. Goodbye dad, I will always love you and miss you. RIP Albert Harrison.”
We can only echo the sentiments on behalf of our Club. He was deservedly elected President in 2015-16. He will be sadly missed but I’m sure that everyone who knew him will have their own fond memories. Our condolences to all his family and friends.
